How to Clear Up Pimples

Some people and even dermatologists will tell you that popping zits will scar you, but others tell you that leaving the pus in the pore is the cause of scarring. Either way the decision to rid your body of the lesions should be performed with caution and gentleness.

A pimple, if targeted for a pop, should be developed and nearly bursting out. Your hands should be sterilized so that no bacteria is introduced to the open pore. A small tipped needle should be sterilized and used to gently break the [tag]skin[/tag], and then gentle pressure applied to the surrounding area. Don’t use bare fingernails as this often tears the skin and causes a wider, larger scab which could result in scarring.

Dab away the liquid, don’t rub it in or push it around on your face. Re-sterilize your hands and place a cool, clean facecloth on the popped pimple. Sterilize the pimple after swelling has reduced with peroxide and then use a mild acne solution to spot treat the area.

The reason we suggest waiting to squeeze until the [tag]pimple[/tag] is breaking the surface is that repeated and forceful pushing on the surrounding skin can cause a lot more trouble than if you’d left the pus to fester in the pore in the first place.

You can force a pimple’s progress to bring it to that ready stage by softening the skin around the pimple with a warm compress (opening the pore) and then gently pressing the surrounding area to see if it is ready.
