I have had acne all my life. I'm only 15, and I have had seen more dermatologists for acne treatments than most people ever have in their entire life. The dermatologist told me that acne scars can be mistaken for hyper-pigmentation. Hyper-pigmentation looks like little faded brown scars on your cheeks or wherever you had acne the most. The difference is: Acne scars won't go away by themselves, but hyper-pigmentation will eventually.
I came up with an acne mask that actually works with clearing acne, making skin soft, and reducing visibility in scars/hyper-pigmentation. Wash your face before you do this with a gentle cleanser (I use the blue Nivea Visage for normal to combination skin.)

1/2 tsp organic extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp honey
1 tsp plain yogurt
a sprinkle of oatmeal (not cooked)
one mushed strawberry

Mix this all together in a bowl and leave it on your face for at least 15 minutes, then wash off with warm water.

The strawberry is really good for your skin since it has Vitamin C to reduce the visibility of any scar or hyper-pigmentation and natural Salicylic Acid, which you would find in topical acne creams in over-the-counter products. The rest of the ingredients attack the acne to reduce visibility and soothe the redness.

If your skin is oily, I would recommend half of the amount of olive oil.
If your skin feels really oily after this, (like mine did when I was testing this out) then I would quickly wash (not thoroughly) with the pink Native Visage for dry and sensitive skin.
If your worried about the oil, it won't clog your pores. There are a lot of things on the internet about olive oil clogging pores, but the dermatologist recommended it (mostly for dry skin)

This mask sounds crazy, but I used it last night because whenever I'm sick, I break out in blackheads, big pimples, little pimples and under grounders (pimples that are under the skin and hurt a lot).
After I used this mask, I used Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. When I woke up, I was thrilled to see that my stupid stubborn acne was not as bad as it was before. In fact, it looked like all the pimples had gone away.
I'm not going to lie, it doesn't totally get rid of ALL acne, but it helps to get rid of most of it and helps your skin to not feel bumpy. This with a combination of drinking water, taking multi-vitamins, eating healthy and exercising will clear up your acne and make those scars or hyper-pigmentation look less visible.

This mask has helped my friends acne clear up, and I hope it will clear up yours too :)

Hi, I'm 14 and I get pimples on my face. Ive bought the neutrgina wave and it didnt help. I tried proactive and it didnt help. My science teacher told me to use just warm water and soap and that helped a little at first then i saw it coming back. My best friend has perfect skin and she uses alchol to get off her makeup and clean her face and it seems to work for her. Does anyone have suggestions about that? Im goin to the beach for the summer with my best friend and id really like my acne to clear up by then cuz i dont want to have to resort to makeup to cover up those nasty things. Any advice? I could really use it.

Hi there. :)

I am 13 and have been suffering from acne for nearly three years. I still have not cleared it up, but I read about a remedy for a facial cleanser. Here is the recipe. I will be trying it tomorrow and tell you all how it goes. By the way my skin is oily/sensitive.

Mix 1 tablespoon honey with 2 tablespoons finely ground almonds and a half a teaspoon of lemon juice (I would omit if you have sensitive skin, it tends to really irritate mine. You can substitute it for chamomile tea.) Gently rub onto face and rinse with warm water.

Don't put harsh chemical-filled products on your face! This only makes the condition worse, and I learned that the hard way. Believe it or not, if you don't put anything on your face it will help clear your skin bigtime. Also going on a raw-food diet really helps - not that I have tried it. It's hard to focus on a raw food diet when you are a teenager and busy with school.

Also dead sea mud I've heard works great for acne!

I have been struggling with skin colored bumps on my forehead and chin since I was 13, I'm 18 now and in massage school with older people without acne... I also I have blackheads on my chin, nose, and forehead. And the big painful under skin pimples and the small puss-filled pimples. It's not too severe but it is a huge self-conscious issue for me. So I've been trying different products for 5 years now and still haven't found the one! I'm now using Aveeno products which worked great at first but my skin got used to it and everything came back. All I really want is something with the least ingredients So now I'm looking into homemade remedies and using essential oils. Does anyone have any good advice or recipes?! Thanks for listening
