Do you make your own soap? A friend of mine just passed on a few recipes to me that she swears by.
I checked out the list and they look like natural acne fighting ingredients to me. At any rate, as long as you follow standard soap making procedures (anything with lye should age 6 weeks before use) these can’t harm your skin and may clear up any bouts of acne – current or future!
Oatmeal and honey, a natural astringent soap, and a refreshing acne mask recipes follow….
Natural Acne Fighter – Oatmeal and Honey Soap
All measurements, excluding honey and oatmeal are in weight, not bulk.
5.5 oz coconut oil
5 oz. shortening
3 oz. lard
1 oz. cocoa butter
1 oz. palm oil
1 oz. apricot kernel oil
2.5 oz. lye
6 oz. water
1 tbs. honey
1/2 cup blended oatmeal
You can also try this melt and pour soap if you have glycerin on hand, although this starts to get rather expensive. You may find that buying tea tree oil soap from the health food shop much more reasonable…
Natural Antiseptic Soap
(This works because the tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic and many cases of acne are spread by overactive bacteria growth.)
2 cups glycerin soap base
2 tbs. tea tree essential oil
Finally here’s an herbal mask. I know that cucumber and parsley are known tighten and purify agents so if you’re looking to draw toxins out of loose or aging skin this is a 10+!
Cucumber Refresher Mask
1 tbs. cucumber
1 tbs. parsley
1 tbs. yogourt
Throw it all in a blender and whirl it together until fluffy.
Lay down and apply the mixture to clean skin.
Rest for 15 minutes, then gently rinse off by splashing warm water on your face.
That’s all for today! Have a great week!

THE THING IS THAT MY FACE IS OILY SO MY MAKE DONT EVEN LAST EITHER.
I HAVE SCARS AND I HAVE IRRITATION ON MY FACE.
I REALLY WANT MY FACE TO START CLEARING UP WHAT CAN I DO?

Daniela:
Your problem seems severe. Severe enough that you may want to consult a dermatologist on these matters.
This level of oily skin – where makeup won’t last the day – is definately a problem and will most certainly clog pores and keep perpetuating the acne cycle.
Recently I’ve been using the home dermabrasion/micro peel kits for my scars. The one from Lise Watier works really well, didn’t irritate my skin and I can see the scars getting smaller already! However, you won’t want to use a kit like this until after the flare up problem is solved.
Try washing with baking soda. I know that it sounds weird but it really seems to work. I have tried all facial scrubs and find that if I use the baking soda twice a day it clears up my skin to a very manageable level (just add enough water
to make it into a paste)

Thanks for leaving that tip. I know baking soda can do wonders for many skin irritations (like bee stings and bug bits) so it’s worth a try!
I’ll just suggest that anyone who tries this goes slowly at first to ensure they don’t have an allergic reaction or find their skin becomes more sensitive to the sun as a result of sloughing off dead skin layers.

Hallo,I have just a few zits but there really anoying. Most skin products do not work on me…. I don’t want to wast my money on something that dosn’t work! Are there any home made recipes that you can recomend?? Thanx!
I strongly suggest oatmeal and honey. Get regular flavored oatmeal and microwave it, then mix in honey. Rub it on your face and leave it on for 15 mins. then rinse with cold water. i promise you’ll see immediate results. And your skin won’t be irritated or anything. Don’t use any soap or cleansers. The facial mask will do the job of cleaning your face.
Just be sure to cool it down enough after the microwave and before application to your tender facial skin!
I recently discoverd a clinique soap and I just started using it couple of day’s ago and its amazing, it really works all the redness that was in my cheeks has dissapeard, I think u should try it I mean its working for me . I like most of u have tried a lot of things even toothpaste for pimples and it didnt work. Hope I could help/
To thoroughly cleanse your face and pores, use either an almond or oatmeal mask. Mix it with rose water and then apply the paste obtained on your skin, paying special attention to the infected areas. After about 15 minutes, when the paste is dry, remove it with cold water. This helps getting rid of the annoying blackheads and whiteheads. Against blackheads, a paste of ground radish seeds and water will do the trick.
Also, besides using all the natural remedies applied on the skin, try eating lots of fruits and vegetables and drinking at least 1 liter of water daily, because this is crucial in curing acne.
Besides drinking water, drinking a tea made with a combination of nettles and cleavers tincture may be effective for acne.

Mt. Everest!
OMG! I have this huge pimple right between my eyes. I mean HUGE My glasses cover most of it, but as soon as my glasses slide down, everybody in my class gets a huge flash of pure ugly puss and ugly in itself! What can I do to get rid of Mt. Everest, and keep it gone? I feel kinda stupid complaining about something that is naturally occuring, but it is kind of bumping in on my social life, and on my ego. Does anyone have any tipa and /or recipes on how to get rid of Mt. Everest? PLEASE RESPOND! I’m desperate!
i have these white things that are sometimes all over my chin and nose. i was with baking soda and then i put an acne treament fluid on my face that makes it go away put it still comes back. how do i keep it from coming back?
Dear Madison,
Put an ice on it(if its as big as you say use two ice cubes,) let both melt and once its numb dry the spot and apply calamine(its pink and it drys fast) lotion on it. A lot of water intake and good night rest will help you out too.
Good luck.
I have acne all over my face chest and back and im only 13:( and nothing seems to work ive tried everything proactiv, clean & clear, neutrogena, even homemade stuff like the oatmeal mask and the crushed advil and lemon juice(that helped a bit)but nothing makes it clear enough thats i dont get embarrassed when im in a bathing suit in public and i really want it gone for gr.8 grad! what can i do???
Alex,
I have exactly the same problem as you. It makes me feel so insecure and i really want mine gone for the start of my school year but nothing ever seems to work! Ivce tried all clearasil and clean and clear and even been to get creams and tablets from the doctors.
My friend recently bought something off a website to try, because she has the same problem. If you keep checking back here ill let you know how it went and ill give you the address.
Natalie x
Hi Alex,
I had exactly the same problem as you and I have tried everything from clearasil, to treatments from the doctor. Nothing got rid of my acne. Last month a friend begged me to try this new stuff and gave me some, but she didn’t know how to get more.
The cleanser and toner worked wonders so I search online and found it last month. I found it was this company’s regular line of skin care, not even targeted for acne, but it worked! Skin cleanser and toner (towards the bottom of the page). I just ordered one small bottle of the cleanser and one of the toner. Way less than the crap I bought at the drug store time and time again. They arrived in 4 days. 2 weeks later my friends are asking what I’m using! The change is amazing! I would definitly recommend it. My acne has nearly gone!
For $30 it could help you too.
Natalie
p.s. next time I’m getting the whole kit.
ok i have a broblem i have a mild pimples but i wold like to get rid of them some of them are on my for head can some one pliz help .and does ice cube work for pimples ???
You could try changing your diet too. My acne is made worse by dairy products – since giving up cheese and milk my skin has ben a lot better. Worth a try! Also, keep off the caffeine!
Hey,
I have a bunch of acne on my forehead and chin. Once some of them go away, they leave like little dark red marks. Occasionally, when I wake up theres these little pimples that have a white surface. I’ve tried proactiv, clearasil, neutrogena, clean & clear, etc…Nothing seems to be working.
I’m only 13, so I can’t really order anything online, PLEASE help. THANKS
Um, I noticed that no one put this on this website, but I think that Hydrogen Peroxide you get from the store for a few bucks works pretty well. Just dab some on your face and let it dry.
Also, Aloe Vera Gel happens to work pretty well, too.
I suffered from severe acne when pregnant. Now after 7 months, deep scars are still there. My skin in dry and since I am breastfeeding my angel, I cant use too many lotions. So please suggest an effective homemade recipe/beauty tips to clear the acne scars as they are really bad. Please send replies soon .
Hi,

I only have 1 week! HELP!
i have a question about the oatmeal and honey mask can you refrigerate the left over and use it the next day or do you need to make a fresh batch every day to keep its strength? also i use the lemon juice method every single night it is working rather well but i leave it on all night long and i was told you need to use a moisturizer because the lemon juice will dry your skin do you suggest any home made moisturizers my skin is very sensitive and i have been battling acne for 12 years also do you think that the oatmeal and honey will help with acne scars?
I am only 13 and I have dry skin with acne. All the acne treatments I tried from the store irritate my skin even if it says for sensative skin, my skin gets really red, flakes and burns when I use them. Write Back!
hey ppls. i really need everyones advice i used to have a really clear skin but during this summer i started getting really bad redness on my cheeks and i get huge pimples and i have scars i need a homemade recipe cuz i dont have that much money to buy products any advice? HELP ME PLEASE!
I use coconut oil. You get it at any health stores (ex: Sprouts, Whole Foods etc…) I lube it on every night after washing my face and sleep in it. But I have to make sure there aren’t and open pimples otherwise the coconut oil replaces the old pimple. During the process do not pop any pimples. I always get compliments on having “perfect skin”. It’s good for small but noticable pimples, not severe problems, but you can try it. Pimple(s) heals in a few days!
