Chemical Treatments vs. Herbal Treatments

Are you aware of the latest figures on acne sufferers? If not, know that you’re not alone with your acne problem – over 40 million people worldwide – in all cultures and age groups – struggle with acne breakouts. A large percentage of those afflicted use chemical treatments (antibiotics, prescription drugs, benzoyl peroxide gels, and salicylic acid based creams).

Herbal Acne Control

There are though many that use herbal acne treatments over chemical treatments. Herbal medications generally have less side effects, are cheaper (in some cases) and are not as dangerous as chemical based creams and medications.

You can try many [tag]herbal acne treatment[/tag]s, but the truth is, there are only a few herbal or holistic acne treatments that work. The best treatment is a full body cleanse – read about the DermaCleanse for hints by running a search at right.

This herbal treatment is largely botanical (from flower extracts) and works internally. Give it at least 2 weeks to start seeing results.

There are two other [tag]herbal treatments[/tag] that have been clinically proven to help control acne. Both are topical treatments – tea tree oil and green tea cream.

Tea tree oil, a natural oil from the Melaleuca tree in Australia works by killing bacteria growing on your skin – thereby decreasing breakouts. Buy a bottle of tea tree oil at your health food store, mix a few drops with water when you wash or rinse your face and apply full strength (test your skin for sensitivity first) on spot blemishes. Give this treatment 4+ weeks to start seeing results.

I’ll talk more about green tea cream when I have some information to share and some results to show you.
