Acne Control – Scars

It’s got to be the most depressing side of acne.

When acne gets out of control it seems that life couldn’t get any worse. In fact, it can. Sadly enough the after effects of acne pimples are nearly as bad as having the darn stuff in the first place!

Why? Because the pus and toxins and pressure on your delicate facial skin ends up in scar tissue. And sometimes they don’t show up for years after the fact!

I’ve got more than a few friends who suffered with acne in their teens, then got it under control, who then in their 30s and 40s started showing signs of pitting and scars! They say in their 20s their faces were fine and clear.

How does it happen and are some people more at risk to [tag]acne scars[/tag] than others? I don’t know, but I do know this if you’re young and you’ve got acne you MUST get it under control now. Take care of your skin in your youth and you won’t have to worry about these things when you’re older.

My mother has a saying, “By the time you’re 40 you get the face you deserve.”

Do not pop or squeeze [tag]acne pimples[/tag], and do not leave acne pimples untreated. If you don’t use anything else, use an antibiotic ointment on the pimples to ensure that the infection clears up properly.

So, what to do if it’s too late and you’ve got acne scars on your face?

Talk to your doctor about acne scar removal. Any pre-existing medical conditions are the first elements to consider (depending on your age and treatment), after that your doctor will discuss your lifestyle, your skin’s elasticity, tone and condition.
