Where Does Acne Come From?

There are many believed sources of an acne skin condition ranging from smog, genetics, uncleanliness, hormones and toxins in the body. In any case, your acne could be the result of any or all of those reasons, plus a host of others.

Diet is another believed cause of some breakout patterns. Mild allergies, such as a lactose intolerance, could aggravate and promote breakouts.

Most commonly though acne is caused by androgens. Hormones in your body, usualy brought on by puberty, stimulate the production of oil from your skin’s natural oil glands. If those oil glands block the pores, pimples or blackheads result. In the most troublesome cases, the oil glands burst into the skin (instead of outwardly) and cause cysts.
